Welcome to the Graduate Library and Information Studies Association (GLISA)!

GLISA is the Graduate Library and Information Studies Association
and the ALA Student Chapter at Texas Woman's University.

Our mission is promote the social, cultural, intellectual, and professional growth of its members in support of the School of Library and Information Studies through various programming, information sharing, scholarships, and more!
As a TWU GLISA member, you will come across many opportunities to improve your leadership skills, work on career development, and network with other library professionals. We hope you will join us to both participate in the various opportunities and also contribute to others.

Executive Board Responsibilities:
The dedicated officers of this organization consist of a President, Vice-President (President-Elect), Secretary, Treasurer, and Web Administrator. It is the responsibility of these officers to plan and administer the activities of this organization along with the following responsibilities:

President shall preside at all meetings, direct the activities of the other officers, and oversee matters concerning membership, publications, and GLISA-sponsored projects and activities. 

Vice President will serve as the President Elect, and must commit to being an officer for two years. S/he shall be responsible for publicizing the activities of the association. S/he will serve as editor of the GLISA newsletter.  

Secretary shall record the minutes of every GLISA meeting and and make them available to members on the GLISA Blackboard site. S/he will also write notes of appreciation where appropriate on behalf of the chapter. S/he will create drafts for correspondence, advertisement, marketing, etc. 

Treasurer shall collect dues. S/he will keep accurate records of membership and financial matters transacted by GLISA. 

Web Administrator shall update and maintain GLISA's online presence, including the Blackboard site, GLISA blog, and social networking sites.
